Job Title: Cut-to-Length Sweeper
Pay Rate: Starts at $9.53 per hour + DOE.
Location: 4700 Colorado Avenue South, Seattle, WA.
Hours of Work: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
Representation: This is a non-union position.


Job Summary:

Keep CTL warehouse area swept and clean.

Requirements to be Considered for this Position:

  4. Work overtime when required.
  5. Willing to comply with company rules and policies.
  6. Pass pre-employment drug screen.

Required Essential Job Skills/Experience:

  1. Able to push broom and shovel debris into dumpster.
  2. Able to operate forklift.
  3. Able to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.
  4. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English.

Required Essential Job Functions/Duties:

  1. Sweep floors in warehouse with brooms and propane-powered sweeper.
  2. Pick up wood scrap, banding material, cardboard and other debris.
  3. Sweep up metal grindings around saws and dump in proper receptacles.
  4. Dump portable dumpsters of trash, cardboard or wood into large dumpster with a forklift.
  5. Assist in coil receiving area; cleaning up skids and debris.
  6. Help sort and organize used skids.
  7. Paint occasionally when needed.
  8. Clean up outside grounds as needed.
  9. Replenish supplies when needed.

Physical Demands:

This work is defined in the heavy strength factor of physical demands. Pushing or pulling exertional motions may be up to 100 times per shift in moving wheeled dumpster in shop area.

Lifting and carrying is usually involved with dumping trash containers into the dumpster. Containers weighing in excess of 70 pounds are to be handled by two people.

Standing and walking occur continuously throughout the course of a workday.  Some intermittent sitting may occur when operating the forklift or at lunch break.
