Job Title: Electrical/Computer Electronics Tech Project Coordinator
Pay Rate: Depends upon experience.
Location: 628 South Hanford Street, Seattle, WA.
Hours of Work: First Shift is 7:00am to 3:30pm and Second Shift is 3:30pm to 12:00 am.
Representation: After 30 days, required to become a dues paying or financial core member of Sheetmetal Workers Local Union No. 66.


Job Summary:

Manage and coordinate electrical/computer electronic maintenance projects from start to finish. Communicate with vendors to contract repair work. Project coordinator will also be expected to perform electrical and computer electronics maintenance when doing so is more timely or cost effective.

Requirements to be considered for position:

Required Essential Job Skills/Experience:

  1. Experience and knowledge in industrial electricity, computers, and electronics.
  2. Able to lift and position parts weighing up to 100 pounds frequently.
  3. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  4. Must be able to climb access ladders in and around equipment and be able to work in confined spaces.
  5. Familiar with the use of hand and power tools needed for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
  6. Knowledge of operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
  7. Must have a valid Washington state drivers license and good driving record.
  8. Legible handwriting.
  9. Must be organized and comfortable with frequent phone use.

Required Essential Job Functions/Duties:

  1. Have a working knowledge in electricity/electronics on equipment such as motor controls, printed circuit boards, variable speed drives, welding machines, computers and x-ray machines.
  2. Operate independently and exercise independent judgment on course of action to be taken on electronic and software repairs.
  3. Repair equipment without aid of schematics.
  4. Work with contractors who design systems and are able to upgrade existing equipment.
  5. Document all work performed.
  6. Communicate with vendors for parts availability and generate purchase requisitions.
  7. Review maintenance requests and act as primary contact with independent contractors.
  8. Follow all jobs to completion to ensure they are done, on time and done correctly.
  9. Act as a project coordinator.

Desirable Job Skills/Experience:

  1. Five or more years experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronics software.
  2. AA degree or equivalent in industrial electronics.

Lifting and carrying is usually involved with tools and repair parts. Depending upon the work flow, this may encumber handling items up to 100 times per day.

Standing and walking occur continuously throughout the course of a work day.
